


If you already use different mods, consider installing a mod manager mod than can save different mod-group profiles. The embark will be in a mountainous, 40 day growing period area to allow for interesting choke-points, Cave-fortresses etc. If you haven't played this embark type before - research and a well-designed killing floor for Raids will be critical to survival. We will be going with a Cassandra Rough tribal embark with a few (value neutral) tweaks off the basic setup using - including taking a pair of breeding boars (intending to breed and train for hauling). If you want to do this in character as one of the peons as the "tribal leader/manager" of the colony please do. You should aim to take 10+ "story" screenshots and write a bit of narrative to describe what happens - sensible to take notes. Save-scumming is allowed in catastrophic unrecoverable situations but discouraged otherwise. On your turn name you can do what you want but we want to survive at least a couple of years so try not to be too stupid until we have 8+ guys and can afford to lose one or two. We will allow 48 hours for a turn (after which unless you've asked for a limited extension someone else can take the save instead if you havent posted any updates), but if you can do it quicker than this all the better. Only do this if you have playtime available in the next 24hrs or so, if you dont, wait and take a turn later. When you start your turn, you post in this thread confirming you are starting. To avoid people going AWOL and long pauses, we will instead be allowing ANYONE who wasnt in the last 2-3 turns (depending on total numbers) to take the save and go next, on a "first come, first go" basis - once a save has been posted in the thread anyone can choose to start the next turn if no-one else has. You should budget around 4 hours to play, but if you like micro or a lot happens it could take longer. If this proves too short we can change it later. Assuming we start on 11th Spring, each turn will go 11th -> 3rd then 3rd -> 11th. Initial turn length will be 8 days (half a season). As discussed in the Rimworld discussion thread, we will shortly be starting a Rimworld hot-save game, in the style of FHC Dwarf Fortress hot-save games of old.
